It must be spring because the bike event calendar is really starting to fill up. Check out some selected events below…

Friday, April 5th

Breadwinner Cycles Launch Party – 8:00 pm at Velo Cult (1969 NE 42nd)
As I shared back in February, two of Portland’s top bicycle builders — Tony Pereira and Ira Ryan — joined forces to create Breadwinner Cycles. Tomorrow night is your chance to hang out with them and see their gorgeous new bikes. Owners of Ira Ryan Cycles and Pereira Cycles will be there “to showcase the lineage that has led to Breadwinner.” Go early because Tony and Ira are paying for the first 100 beers! More info here

Saturday, April 6th

Safe Routes to School Spring Kickoff – 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Cesar Chavez School (5103 N Willis Blvd)
This third annual event is brought to you PBOT. They’ll have loads of free and fun stuff for the whole family to do including art projects, bike safety education, free bike repairs, and more. More info here.

Rickreall Gravel Classic – 9:00 am in Falls City, OR
I’ve been wanting to do this one for years! It’s an 80-mile adventure ride in the Willamette Valley on dirt and gravel roads. Beautiful vistas, fun people, a great ride. More info here.

25th Annual Mudslinger MTB Stage Race – Saturday and Sunday in Blodgett Oregon
The Mudslinger promises two full days of great off-road riding and racing. There’s a hillclimb and downhill on Saturday then the big cross-country race on Sunday. Takes place in Blodgett (between Corvallis and Newport). More info here.

Sunday, April 7th

Watch the Paris-Roubaix live at Velo Cult – 5:00 am
This is your chance to watch this epic classic bike race among fellow bike nerds at the always-welcoming Velo Cult (1969 NE 42nd). More info here (FB).

Tweed Ride – 2:00 pm at Mt. Tabor Park
It’s time to dust off your classic tweed outfits and roll up to Mt. Tabor for tea and pleasantries followed by a ride through town. The ride will be social and short at about 9 miles or so and there’s an after party at Velo Cult (1968 NE 42nd). Meet at the Pavilion on the north side of the park, near the basketball court. More info here.

Super Swap – 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at Union Pine (525 SE Pine)
I’m really excited about this new event. It’s being billed as, “Portland’s ultimate bicycle swap/samples and clearance party,” and from what I’ve heard there will be some serious nice stuff and great prices. Expect to see top brands like Rapha, Chrome, Poler, River City Bicycles, Breadwinner Cycles, Beloved, Bontrager, and more. More info here.

Feel free to drop me a line if I missed any big events and/or just promote them in the comments.
