Portland-based Showers Pass is doing something cool this weekend. They’re celebrating the opening of a shop-within-a-shop at the huge new Western Bikeworks location in Tigard.

Showers Pass is known mostly for their rain jackets, but did you know that in the past few years their product line has grown to 68 items? (And I have to say their new bamboo-merino henley shirt is my current favorite.) The company currently offers 21 jackets, 12 pants, six baselayers, eight gloves, five socks and 16 various accessories.

This weekend you can see them, touch them, and try them all on at one place: 7295 SW Dartmouth Ave.

Portland, OR – Showers Pass recently announced their partnership with Western Bikeworks, a local bike shop in Tigard, Oregon, that will carry their complete line of clothing including jackets, pants, baselayers, socks and bags for a unique brand immersion within the store.

“As a local company making world class products, Showers Pass has always been a fantastic partner for Western Bikeworks. Says Store Manager, Colin Ross. “We’re excited to be able to showcase their entire collection at our Tigard store. This installation allows cyclists to put their hands on things they may have only seen online and better understand how the Showers Pass line fits together. Ultimately, that makes it easier for our customers to choose which products best fit their needs.”

Showers Pass has decided to take on a brick-and-mortar approach in a world of e-commerce to support their local shops and dealers. Shopping is a touch and feel process, and Showers Pass understands that the limitations of online shopping can not measure up to an in-store experience. This store within a store, will showcase their full line and a custom point-of-purchase to provide the ultimate engagement for local cyclists.

“With new shopping trends, people are buying in different ways. We want to cater to all of our consumers’ needs, while also supporting our local dealers with a program that attracts interest with their customers.” says CEO of Showers Pass, Kyle Ranson. “Western Bikeworks has been a retail partner since 2007 and is the largest Showers Pass dealer in Oregon, so it makes sense that they will be our first retail partner carrying our complete line in store, and we expect this program to develop further in 2016.”
