This menu of delicious rides and events is brought to you by our friends at Hopworks Urban Brewery. Their support makes BikePortland possible.

Whether it’s because racing season is over or due to the crazy weather, we realize you might not be riding as much as usual lately. If that’s true, than this weekend we’ve got some very mellow rides and events that might be right up your alley.

What are your plans? Check out our suggestions below…

Saturday, December 12th

Multi-Faith Friendship Ride to Rizwan Mosque – 10:30 am at Japanese American Historical Plaza (2 NW Naito Parkway in Waterfront Park)
Our News Editor Michael Andersen is leading this ride because he wants to do his part to counter all the Muslim hatred and bigotry going on in America right now. If you are curious about Islam and want to meet and support local Muslims, come along for the ride. More info here.

Come and volunteer to help Bikes for Humanity give bikes to 4th and 5th graders who have graduated from the Safe Routes to School curriculum. They’ll need help fixing up bikes, fitting helmets, greeting kids and families, and so on. More info here

New Beer Release Ride – 10:00 am at Velo Cult (1969 NE 42nd Ave)

Red-Nosed Singalong Ride – 4:00 pm at Aerial Tram (3303 SW Bond, near bike valet)
Do you remember the classic stop-animation Rudolph film? You know you want to ride around downtown and share the songs with random strangers. It’ll be so much fun! Lyric sheets will be made available. Ride will be a five-mile loop. Free LED Rudolph nose for everyone who shows up. More info here.

Rush Hour Alleycat – 6:00 pm at Terry Schrunk Plaza (SW Madison & 3rd)
Part alleycat, part mass ride. Show up and have fun riding your bike through the city with friends old and new. More info here.

Cross Crusade Awards Party – 7:00 pm at The Lumberyard (2700 NE 82nd Ave)
Sign the memory book for Brad Ross, win prizes in the raffle (open to racers only), enjoy some pizza and beer, and relive all your Crusade memories. It’s the perfect way to end the cyclocross season. And for just $15 you can get admission to the Lumberyard, a rental bike and pads. More info here.
