We hope you’re enjoying the fall weather and still riding your bike through this spell of rain. Don’t you think the beauty of fall colors more than makes up for the dip in temperatures and the wet muck that seems to be everywhere these days?

Whether you’ve been riding or not, perhaps our menu of tasty rides below will tempt you to get outside on a bike this weekend. We’ve got cyclocross options near and far, as well as some traditionally spooky cycling options. And a dance performance!

Whatever you do, have fun out there…

Friday, October 28th

Breakfast on the Bridges – 7:15am Steel, Hawthorne, Tilikum Bridges
It’s the last Friday of the month so that means BonB on the east end of the lower Steel, west end of Hawthorne, and west side of the Tilikum Bridge, under the 99 Red Balloons sculpture. Grab a coffee and a bite on your way across the river. Learn more here.

Saturday, October 29th

Lake Oswego Crosstoberfest – All day at Luscher Farms (125 Rosemont Rd, Lake Oswego)
Sponsored by the City of Lake Oswego, the inaugural Crosstoberfest event and it looks like a keeper. There will be a vendor village on the farm with food and drinks and lots of Halloween festiveness that the whole family will enjoy. Learn more here.

Cross Crusade Race #5 – All day at Deschutes Brewery (Bend, OR)
This is the start of the big weekend in Bend. With a new course this year and a huge after-party in the works, this is going to be yuuuge! Remember racers, this race will count for double points in the overal series standings. Learn more here.

BloodyVox Dance Performance 2:00pm at BodyVox Dance Center (1201 NW 17th Ave)

Not directly bike-related, but this looks like a performance worth seeing. They also sent us this fun zombie bike ride promo video. More info here.

Puddlecycles Doll Asylum, Haunted House, Cemetery Tour – 5:00pm Doll Asylum (6315 N Michigan Ave)
Two of Portland’s best Halloween destinations in one ride! If you haven’t been to the Doll Asylum (free admission) in north Portland you are missing out. Be prepared to never see dolls the same way again. The ride will then traverse by scary yard displays en route to the spooky Tour of Untimely Departures at Lone Fir Cemetery in southeast (tickets are $5 – $15). Learn more here.

Sunday, October 30th

Portland Wheelman Public Art Ride – 10:00am Wilshire Park (NE 35th & Skidmore)
This group ride will venture about 20 miles while viewing some of Portland’s most interesting murals and sculptures. Learn more here.
